„My beloved…"

"I have found you."

"I was always here."

"I told you not to come here. The chamber was sealed during the experiment. "

"I did not know. I only wanted to be close to you. "

"I did not want you to see the experiment before it was finished. I wanted to surprise you."

"Yes. And so I surprised you instead. You did not think, I would secretly sneak in to snatch a peep? I thought you had forgotten me over your work."

"I would never forget you. You must believe me."

"I know. That is, why I waited. I knew you would come."

"But too late alas. How can I ever forgive myself…?"

The following extract was taken from an article which appeared in the Boston Guardian.

"Our town looks with great pride upon its famous son. Even though very young he has already proven that he has to be counted among the greatest scientist of our time. His experiments especially in the field of radiation will undoubtedly earn him a place in the hall of fame. To wield these deadly powers, to prove himself master of the burning rays, which within minutes strip flesh from bone and can, if let loose, destroy life with frightening ease, is an awesome achievement indeed. But the gods never grant favours without a penalty.  And so his hour of triumph is marred by bitterness and grief for the loss of his fiancé, who is reported missing. She was last seen the laboratory building, but despite frantic search, no trace of her has been found so far…"
